numbers

Brazilian Jiu-jitsu was developed and improved in Brazil. For this reason, we call techniques by their original names in portuguese and we also count in portuguese during drills and exercises. Below you will find the pronunciation of the numbers up to ten and some terms used during class, Rio de Janeiro style! Enjoy, and remember, if you have any questions don’t hesitate to ask your instructor. We are here to help you excel in Jiu-jitsu AND all aspects of the sport. ;)
